The success of the supply chain at GE HealthCare is critical to our business and an area where every moment truly matters. This intense program is designed to accelerate the development of our future operational leaders.

It’s a unique program that reflects how supply chain and operations is a huge team sport here at GE HealthCare. Our teams make thousands of important decisions every day. Decisions that drive change, fix problems, or deal with operational issues. This program will expose you to it all-  operations management, team leadership, technical problem solving, lean continuous improvement, and materials planning. You’ll gain experience working in this fast-paced, problem-solving rich environment in this most vital of business functions. 

The program is designed to develop graduates from different backgrounds: the tech savvy who can quickly grasp the science behind the operations required to deliver our precision health products and equipment. And those with a business background and focus, who can analyze data and create solutions that will boost the efficiency of our operations. Whatever your background, this program will ensure you’re ready to support our vision to be the leading innovator delivering precision health.

What to expect on OMDP

Rotations
What you'll do
Our vast supply chain poses complex problems that need to be solved every day so that we can deliver life-saving medical equipment to our customers. The three 8-month rotations on this program will prepare you for working in this fast-paced environment & to be ready to tackle challenges of working in a dynamic operation and supply chain. . You’ll gain the experience of designing and improving processes that are used to  produce high tech products and deliver efficiencies in our operations.. You’ll also learn how to improve & streamline complex logistics networks that connect suppliers with our make centers and ultimately our customers.

On program, you will be challenged through three rotations & have the opportunity to work in different areas of the business. To build your leadership skills, on one rotation you will be a people leader where you’re managing a team and driving safety, performance and delivery. Other rotations will have more of a technical problem solving, lean continuous improvement or planning focus, requiring you to solve problems in the supply chain that are affecting our customer delivery goals. All challenges are inter-disciplinary, giving you the chance to work with big data to solve ambiguous and complicated problems within tight time constraints.

Structured training, on-the-job experience and extensive coaching and mentoring will ensure you’re equipped with the technical, leadership and teamwork skills you need to succeed. 

The program culminates in a capstone project where you work on a team on a critical business challenge, sponsored by one of our executive leaders, giving you the opportunity to interface with senior leadership.

What you'll need
We are looking for graduates with an engineering or supply chain related degree. To meet the challenge of program, your analytical and  problem solving skills are essential along with your resiliency to work in our fast-paced supply chain. We look for those with passion for delivering critical healthcare to our patients, and creativity to tackle any problem in our supply chain. 

Humility, curiosity, grit, influence and the ability to constructively resolve conflicts are all attributes we look for. So too, people with a passion for learning new problem-solving skills, as well as how to work as a team, and motivate &  influence others.
