Program Summary
The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender & Ally (GLBTA) Alliance invests in cultivating the GE leaders of today and tomorrow. Dedicated to growing GLBT talent around the world, GLBTA is helping the company to build an inclusive, adaptable, and creative culture that is well-positioned to meet the ever-changing needs of the business environment.

The GLBTA was formed in 2005 and consists of multiple geographic and virtual chapters in more than 28 countries and well over 100 cities around the globe. The chapters sponsor professional development, networking, and educational events that provide members a unique opportunity to meet and share ideas with senior leaders. Chapters also participate in community service and volunteer events, enhancing GE’s reputation as an employer of choice in, and providing service to, local GLBT communities.

We are proud to be named to the Human Rights Campaign’s Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality and have received a perfect rating of 100 on its Corporate Equality Index every year since 2014.

Each year, the GLBTA hosts virtual and in-person meetings where GLBT employees come together for a workshops, panels, and events designed to build professional skills and broaden exposure to senior leadership.

GE’s commitment to the GLBT community is supported by the GLBTA as well as through inclusive benefits such as same-sex spousal benefits and bereavement leave. At GE, we understand that in this globally competitive environment, we cannot afford to overlook the opportunities that arise from developing the capabilities and potential of every person in our workforce.
GLBTA Award
"Diversity of all kinds is critical and diversity of thought tops my list.  We need to hire and work with people who look, sound and think differently than we do.  A company that is changing the world needs to reflect the world."

Cultivating the GE Leaders of Today and Tomorrow
Each year, we bring together hundreds of employees from across the company to regional or global summits that develop attendees both personally and professionally. Our mentorship program educates employees throughout the year in workshops and roundtable sessions that are focused on GLBT employees’ needs in the workplace and creating a more inclusive environment for all GE employees.

At our biennial conference, high-potential GLBT employees and their allies come together for a series of workshops, panels, and events designed to build professional skills and broaden exposure to senior leadership. We host a global Virtual Simplification Series, as well as global teleconferences such as our Leadership Forum speaker series, which features senior leaders in GE.
