New here? We've got you covered!

Whether you’re sure you’re joining GE Research, or still making your decision, this page will help you manage the process from start to finish.

What will your first day look like?

You will receive specific instructions for your first day from the HR team the week prior to your start, as schedules  are  subject to change.  Generally, you can expect to have an IT session, get your tech, meet with your manager, settle into your work space, and attend site safety training.

What should you wear?

In general, GE Research observes a business casual dress code.  With over 50,000 guests coming on site annually, there may be meetings/events that require professional dress.  When working in lab areas, closed-toe shoes are required at all times.  New employees should check with their manager to best understand the expectation in their group.

What should you bring?

It is essential that you have proper documentation as you start with us. Below is a list of what you will need:

  • Within 3 business days of starting work for pay, you must present documentation that establishes your identity and employment authorization.  You may present either one selection from List A or a combination of one selection from List B and one selection from List C.”  Documents must be originals, copies are not accepted. A list of acceptable identification is listed here.  You’ll either need one selection from List A, or a combination of one selection from List B and one selection from List C.

Note – a US license is NOT a sufficient substitute for any of the above. If you do NOT have one of the three identifications above, you need to complete the US Person Validation form on the offer site under “First Day Information” and email to at least 5 days before starting your assignment.

New Hire Immersion Plan

This 30-90 day plan is a compilation of get to knows and more in depth conversations with people the new employee will work with. Earlier in the plan it will include introductions to program manages, peers, and key team members and evolve to include key business and/or government contacts and deep dives in to different topic areas.  A large aspect of the immersion plan is matching the new hire with a comprehensive buddy partnership; the buddy will help with the transition to the GE Research Center and assimilation into your new role.
