Pre-Hire New here? We've got you covered!

Whether you’re sure you’re joining GE Gas Power, or still making your decision, this page will help you manage the process from start to finish.

PREPARE FOR YOUR FIRST DAY

What will your first day look like?

It depends on what site you’ll be working, but you will most likely begin with an orientation day. You’ll receive more information closer to your state date. In addition to orientation, you’ll have paperwork, team meetings and IT setup.

What should you wear?

In general, GE Gas Power is a business casual workspace. However, you may dress differently if you have an assignment in supply chain (shop floor operations) versus engineering (more of a desk job). This would be a great question to ask your assignment leader before arriving to best understand the expectation in your organization.

What should you bring?

It is essential that you have proper documentation as you start with us. Below is a list of what you will need:

  • Documentation for I-9 processing: You must bring the original, unexpired proper identification for the I-9 form to help verify your identity for employment authorization. No copies will be accepted. A list of acceptable identification is listed here.  You’ll either need one selection from List A, or a combination of one selection from List B and one selection from List C.

  • Documentation for employee badging. You will need to bring one of the following pieces of identification with you to obtain a badge:

    • Birth certificate (a copy is acceptable).

    • US Passport (expired passports are acceptable).
Permanent Resident Alien Identification Card (must be original Green Card, no copies are acceptable).

Note – a US license is NOT a sufficient substitute for any of the above. If you do NOT have one of the three identifications above, you need to complete the US Person Validation form on the offer site under “First Day Information” and email to itc.uspv@ge.com at least 5 days before starting your assignment.
