Role Summary/Purpose:
Essential Responsibilities:  -Lead/participate multidisciplinary teams on programs ranging from long-term and exploratory research to applied research & development to serve many GE businesses.
 -Utilize experiences and accumulated business acumen to make sound decisions. Apply technical expertise to maximize customer impact of team’s technical contributions. Utilize knowledge in chemical engineering to perform unit operation development and system integration, process modeling and optimization, as well as cost trade-offs in developing technologies such as fuels (coal, natural gas, unconventional gas, fuel oil etc.) processing and utilization, emission control.
 -Look across markets/businesses and identifies linkages, build customer relationships and communicate with the customer on technology development activities. Work with stakeholders to define solutions, create collaborative relationships with strategic partners.
 -Actively create, adapt, and execute plans to unstructured and/or complex problems or issues, persevere through challenges
 -Develop and champion new ideas, confront difficult circumstances in creative ways, push for success
 -Create collaboration opportunities and energize teams
 -Embrace EHS & plays an active role in creating culture of safety.
Qualifications/Requirements:  -PhD in Chemical Engineering (catalysis, reaction engineering, system modeling, process development).
 -Over 8 years of industrial R&D experience required. These experiences could be in chemical systems development for applications in fuels and emissions technologies, renewable energies, etc.
 -Demonstrate capabilities in unit operation development and system integration, process modeling and optimization, as well as hands-on experimental experiences. Real life field experiences in chemical or relevant industry are required.
 -Proven record of technical accomplishments in the related field
 -Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills, ability to explain complex problems in simple terms, foster cross-organizational communications.
 -Excellent problem solving skills - ability to consider overall problem, identify opportunities and implement major changes.
 -Self-starter & self-motivator, independent thinker, proactive problem solver.
 -Motivated by quality, cost and speed.
