Role Summary/Purpose: GE is an equal opportunity employer, offering a great work environment, challenging career opportunities, professional training and competitive compensation.The Lead System Engineer (LSE) is responsible for the GE ES strategic system direction and product introductions for various battery applications. In this role, you will:
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Work together with Product Management to understand the market landscape (i.e. segmentation, customer value drivers, competitor capabilities, technology trends, etc.) and to identify the unmet customer needs on which the product development process will be focused
  • Assess current in house technologies against competing technologies and find optimum application solutions for GE ES technology portfolio
  • Lead the ideation process by leveraging the GE ES Technology, Beta R&D, GE Global Research Center, external think tanks and thought leaders to generate new product concepts that address previously identified unmet customer needs
  • Lead overall system definition and integration for the application space
  • Translate new product description into product system specification
  • Work with the subsystem teams to assure all subsystem designs integrated to deliver expected overall system performance
  • Understand and drive trade-offs between design and performance characteristics at the customer, system and subsystem level
  • Run and drive internal processes to implement functional requirements, validation plan and requirement traceability
  • Attend design reviews and provide inputs from system integration perspective
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in energy storage technologies or related system
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or Science
  • Experience in battery system integration
  • Leadership experience in technology groups with high level expertise
  • Fluent in at least one other European languages
  • Experience in Grid applications (Utility, Wind, Solar etc)
  • Strong demonstrated strategic planning ability
  • Intellectual curiosity and technical aptitude to learn new technologies and properly evaluate their potentials
  • Strong influential leadership skills
  • Ability to work multicultural, multifunctional environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
