Role Summary/Purpose Launched in May 2008, Women at NBCU is a powerful combination of media assets reaching women across multiple platforms. This ad sales, marketing & research initiative creates custom solutions for advertisers to connect with female consumers through NBC Universal's wide portfolio, including Oxygen, iVillage, Bravo, "Green is Universal," as well as other female-skewing shows such as "TODAY" & "Biggest Loser." Some recent Women at NBCU clients include Pepsi, Proctor & Gamble, General Mills & Kodak.
Essential Responsibilities
* Lead insights producer for research-driven, Women-focused sales initiative within NBCU.
* Conceive and execute custom consumer insights projects designed to create a dialogue with and deliver value to agencies and advertiser partners.
* Present findings at industry events and in consultation with clients.
* Work generally focuses on different Women segments, their lifestyles, consumer and media behaviors, tech profiles, and values and attitudes.
* Create research programs designed to measure ROI of advertiser sponsorships that run across NBCU properties.
* Use syndicated tools and custom processes to measure change in awareness, brand opinion, purchase intent, and brand advocacy.
* Use custom work and syndicated data analysis to help sales marketing create collateral materials for Women at NBCU messaging and meetings.
* Provide the Women at NBCU business with intel to drive the strategic direction of the business to focus on different consumer segments, different market segments, to help prospect for new business, and to help set the overall agenda for the initiative.
* Evaluate syndicated research opportunities and synthesize sales-focused primary research into compelling case studies for use by account executives.
* Prioritize discretionary research budget for Women at NBCU.
* Manage a senior analyst who will support both primary and syndicated research projects for Women at NBCU.
* Tap into Bravo, Oxygen, and iVillage research teams to repurpose their work and synthesize into and over-arching corporate message to benefit the greater business.
* Key internal partners include Women at NBCU sales and sales marketing, NBCU Women & Lifestyle Entertainment Networks management, and the greater NBCU research team.
Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications:
* Minimum 8 years experience in research at a broadcast or cable network, or extensive experience at a media agency or relevant research supplier required.
* Familiarity with Nielsen tools and syndicated consumer databases like MRI and Simmons required.
* Must have demonstrated strong staff management skills, strong math and analytical problem-solving skills, and strong professional presentation skills to high-level external parties.
* Must be creative, proactive thinkers who can handle multiple projects at once against tight deadlines.
