Role Summary/Purpose This position would assist a Marketing Director and will help to market and increase sales at MSNBC. Individual must have the ability to interface with internal constituencies (sales, management, research, programming) in order to secure requisite input/approvals for business opportunities. Individual must also have the ability to interface with external customers (advertisers, agencies) and translate the needs of the target brand into sellable programs that generate revenue for NBC Univer
Essential Responsibilities
* Development of new and innovative sales opportunities and customized daypart sales presentations
* Interface with sales personnel and translate their needs into marketing materials
* Analyze and run SMRB/MRI information to develop sales stories/daypart positionings
* Analyze competitive spending patterns
* Analyze product categories to develop opportunities for NBC
* Write company overviews for sales group
* Development of all Marketing collateral materials to position NBC Universal dayparts/networks to Agencies and Advertisers (sales videos, program one sheets, ratings highlights, flash emails, print creative and NBCMarketplace.com)
* Execution of promotional programs
* Represent NBC Universal Marketing on client calls with Account Executives
* Supervision of Marketing Analyst, Associate or Assistant
* Work closely with MSNBC consumer marketing/consumer insights team to generate revenue opportunities for MSNBC
* Oversee and manage daypart budget
Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications:
* Minimum 5 years of experience at an agency, media company, sales organization or in research, where the individual was responsible for presentation, creative and promotion development
* Bachelor's Degree
* Thorough knowledge of brand and media marketing, the sales process and media in general
* Understanding of and ability to analyze Nielsen data/other Research tools (CMR, MRI, etc)
* Ability to generate ideas and new concepts/positionings as it relates to the sales product
* Strong Computer program knowledge (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc) and presentation proficiencies.
