Role Summary/Purpose The Senior Accountant supports the Country Controller and local teams with all aspects of controllership within the centre.
Essential Responsibilities Complete financial reports in compliance with USGAAP standards (monthly, quarterly and annual)
Lead or assist the Country controller in the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes and Liaise with the HQ team.
Ensure all assigned reconciliations are prepared and reviewed accurately and submitted in line with corporate criteria.
Analyzes US GAAP to STAT differences, proposes S2G adjustments and document the S2G reconciliation for several GE Businesses.
Ensure implementation and understanding of the financial policies and procedures in compliance with local legislation and the company policies and procedures. Ensure all documentation is compliant with local legislation & GE internal requirements.
Understand key models and month end tasks, proactively seeking to improve and simplify where necessary.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers and finance personnel.
Support with ad-hoc projects and other Management Controllership tasks as necessary.
Interact and respond to auditor queries, internal and external as necessary.
Support controllership data requests, and auditing processes
Qualifications/Requirements Finance/Accounting degree or equivalent
Experience in US GAAP reporting
Prior experience in GAAP to STAT reconciliations
Qualified/Part Qualified Accountant.
3+ years experience in accounting
Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to communicate at all levels.
Strong system skills (MS Office including Excel, Oracle, specific system(s) desirable)
Proactive, ability to operate effectively with minimal guidance
Ability to challenge processes and implement improved working methods.
Fluent in English & Greek
