Essential Responsibilities:	Consult with major GE Energy clients in providing comprehensive installation, repair and maintenance of a range of GE engineered Electrical and Electronic Generator Support Systems. These include Excitation systems, Static Start Drive Systems, as well as Power Distribution, Digital Protection and Motors Apply specialized knowledge of GE’s Digital and Analog Electronics to provide the comprehensive repair and maintenance for a range of GE Excitation and Static Start systems, to include conducting repairs, warranty and equipment preventative maintenance, and new project installations. These systems can be found on various gas and steam turbines for power generation and mechanical-drives for oil and gas industry applications Prepare job-planning documents that define the scope of outage to be performed through engineering instructions, drawings, and process instructions Liaise effectively with Service Manager utilizing customers' CTQ for proper job planning and execution Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites Conduct loop checking of transformers and I/O circuits on excitation and associated systems Conduct verification and modifications to control system parameters and software as required Verify and troubleshoot interface between GE and Customer Generator Protection schemes Maintain strong safety mindset to assure executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards Knowledge to troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for wide range of equipment vintages Interface with customer for functional issues and queries Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages

This individual leads initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business and is the recognized expert in a power transformer operation and application.
Essential Responsibilities:	In this role you will be responsible for preparing XD Power Transformer products for global markets, supporting the businesses’ ‘go to market’ strategy and operational execution for the manufacturing of Power Transformer products. You will act as the key technical transformer expert in a rapidly growing business line for GE Digital Energy. The Staff Engineer / Technologist demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy. Technical leadership for GE Power Transformer offerings Support product qualification and facility certification efforts Technical consultant to Commercial Center and Regions Technical support for installation services Provide technical guidance through XD’s Operation Center to their manufacturing facilities Support and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as manufacturing, sourcing, services, global engineering, ATO, and systems engineering Support service programs, fulfillment, and New Product Introduction (NPI) Execute with limited guidance the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements Recommend approach to meet the technical and program requirements Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams; mentor others in the organization Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Qualifications/Requirements:	Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science Minimum of 10 years of experience in Engineering field and or Product Application Minimum of 5 years of experience in power transformer product related applications Minimum of 1 year of experience interpreting product diagrams and product specifications
