Role Summary: The Inspection Technologies Technical Support Team is a global team and is the single point of entry for all post-sales technical issues for NDT products installed around the world. These products range from Radiography, Ultrasonic Testing Machine, Remote Visual Inspection, Eddy Current, Ultrasonic Standard Flow, Film and Rhythm Archive Software.
Essential Responsibilities: The Technical Support Engineer (TSE) is responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity. Daily priorities will be set by the GEIT Global Technical Support Leader. In this role, you will follow defined tools, processes / guidelines and escalation paths, meet day-to-day short-term objectives, and have the ability to resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
In the role of Technical Support Engineer you will:
Act as the single point of contact to the customer for timely and satisfactory resolution of a wide variety of technical issues / queries for the assigned product line(s)
Have fundamental knowledge of assigned product lines, their associated configuration installations, and/or follow established escalation paths to support appropriately
Effectively handle technical queries from assigned customers and be knowledgeable of and sensitive to business, social and cultural issues significant to the customers
Support other TS team members and other teams as required
Monitor metrics to understand severity of incoming and/or pending issues and align priorities accordingly
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math from an accredited college or university (OR High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution with minimum 9 years in technical experience with GEIT X-Ray testing machines or Ultrasonic Testing Machines)
Minimum 5 years of technical experience with GEIT X-Ray testing machines or Ultrasonic Testing Machines
Ability and willingness to work a flexible work schedule
Minimum 5 years of technical experience with GEIT Ultrasonic Testing Machines, specifically machines engineered / manufactured in Huerth, Lewistown, and Alzenau
Minimum 5 years of technical experience with GEIT Phoenix 2D and 3D systems
Minimum 5 years of technical experience with GEIT / Seifert testing machines and components, such as: x|cube, x|blade, blade|line, Eresco, Isovolt, speed|scan, VistaPlus, and Saba
Experience analyzing technical issues
Experience in and willing to coach and mentor others
Experience interfacing with internal and external customers
Structured work methods and analytical skills
Experience managing multiple tasks in parallel
