Role Summary: This role is for an Advanced Lead Engineer who will lead and direct cross functional teams to assess GE Aviation Electrical Power-Long Island-Pompano Beach (GELIPB) product performance issues in production and in service; analyze trends, establish metrics, and apply required tools to affect corrective actions and continuous improvement. The Key to this role is to establish strategy for effective Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) investigations to timely resolve product technical issues.
In addition you will :
Guide cross-functional teams to achieve role objectives and meet department financial targets including costs associated with Manufacturing Support, Field Support, and Cost Out / Simplification projects
Provide direction to site Product Support Engineer (PSE) to resolve fielded product related issues
Drive initiatives with PSE to improve product quality and delivery performance (e.g. return to green efforts)
Execute and deliver required Failure Reporting and Corrective Action (FRACAS) reports
Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional team (including supply chain, quality and manufacturing engineering) empowered to execute Lean Six Sigma strategy and tools to improve FRACAS and RCCA processes, reduce inefficiencies and eliminate process waste
Serve as a change agent in institutionalizing Lean Six Sigma quality and application of RCCA process
Deliver breakthrough levels of improvement in process capability to reduce inefficiencies and eliminate process waste
Facilitate, train, and coach team members in the use of RCCA tools and processes
Consistently seek, share, and implement best practices
Identify and propose potential technology and process improvements projects such as Brilliant Factory / Digital tools for effective data analysis / SPC / trending to reduce RCCA execution times and drive simplification opportunities
Working with sustaining engineers, establish, and apply lessons learned from test and troubleshooting of GELIPB products and test systems to improve product yields
Maintain detailed documentation / logs on all RCCA projects to establish lessons learned and tracking of completed RCCA effectiveness
Evaluate engineering processes and procedures as related to Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and make recommendations / implement improvements
Prepare material for, participate in, and lead customer reviews as required
BS in an Engineering discipline from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment
BS in an Engineering discipline (preferably electrical engineering) from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 5 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
MS in an engineering discipline from an accredited university or college
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to influence others and lead small teams
Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
Effective problem identification and solution skills
Proven analytical and organizational ability
Experience with product support on the manufacturing floor, troubleshooting of electronic products and test systems
Circuit design capability (analog & digital) for electronic products and test equipment
Strong project management skills
Ability to work independently and leading teams (direct, matrixed, and / or project based reporting relationships)
Strong computer skills (e.g. MS office)
