Role Summary:
As Sr. Staff Data & Information Architect for GE’s Oracle ERP platforms, you will lead a team of Oracle Applications Database Administrators and e-Business Suite System Administrators to provide deep technical expertise on multiple highly complex Oracle ERPs supporting, evaluating, recommending, architecting and porting GE’s Oracle ERPs to strategic infrastructure and cloud platforms.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, mentor and energize high performance ERP DBA teams
    across geographies to manage large, complex mission critical ERP environments
  • Participate in technical and business discussions relative
    to future architectural direction across Oracle e-Business Suite ERP platforms
    and associated 3rd party products
  • Identify resourcing needs, assign individual
    responsibilities, and develop schedule to ensure smooth operations and timely
    completion of project deliverables
  • Work with application and security teams to promptly address
    security vulnerability issues protecting ERP applications, database,
    infrastructure and technology stack
  • Champion the adoption of new technologies and develop peer,
    cross-functional and cross-business relationships to maximize best practice
    sharing and team effectiveness
  • Reduce operational cycle time and drive simplification
    through implementation of automation solutions
  • Partner with ERP CoEs, application teams, shared services,
    CoreTech peers and Oracle in design, development, implementation and
    operational support of ERP technology solutions
  • Manage architecture and operations activities to ensure ERP
    compute infrastructure is used efficiently and produces a long-term business
    benefit
  • Maintain and apply current knowledge of information
    technology; keep abreast of new and emerging technologies and help determine
    if/how they can be used to add value to the business
  • Participate in budget management responsibilities and inputs
    into financial planning, S2 and other business activitiesIn this role, you will:

Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors
    (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). A minimum of 5 years of professional
    experience in a technical area (Architecture, Software, or Information
    Technology) or (a high school diploma / GED with at least 8 years of experience
    in Information Technology or Software).
  • 5+ years of “Hands-On” experience as an Oracle Applications
    DBA supporting infrastructure, database and technology stack components for
    e-Business Suite platforms in a large, global organization





Eligibility Requirements:



  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.
  • Must be willing to travel < 5%
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Atlanta, or Schenectady.

Desired Characteristics:

  • In depth understanding in architecting and managing
    solutions around Oracle technology stack components such as e-Business Suite
    R12+, AD/TXK/OA Framework, RDBMS, Real Application Clusters (RAC),
    Single-Sign-On (OID/OAM), 10gAS, Weblogic, SOA, VCP, Demantra, Extranet,
    iSupplier   etc.
  • Proven ability working across tech. stack components and
    providing L4 support to lead a world-class e-Business Suite DBA team supporting
    a global, 24x7 Oracle EBS environment
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and influence cross
    functional business teams in Oracle technology integration areas, processes,
    functions
  • Experience in Oracle ERP migrations to IaaS and PaaS
    solutions
  • Basic understanding of IT Infrastructure life cycle
    management, ITIL standards and processes
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience establishing policies, product, operating
    standards and runbooks
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with
    shifting priorities
  • Must be comfortable with change and actively driving
    improvements
  • Proven analytical and problem resolution skills
  • Proactive responsible individual, able to set own action
    plans
  • Ability to influence and build consensus with other IT teams
    and leadership
  • Demonstrated coaching, feedback, developmental
    opportunities, etc. to direct or indirect reports within broader team
  • Experience of supporting e-Business suite on Oracle
    Engineered Systems (Exadata/Exalogic/ZFS/PCA) a plus
