Role Summary: Sr. Image Quality Engineer has responsibility of developing IQ tools & algorithms, defining system level architecture, drive end to end development of system features, conducting verification & validation of CT & PET/CT System,. supporting installation & IB. Responsible to interact with Software & hardware team members, apps specialists & customers to define user needs & systems specifications.
Essential Responsibilities: Scientific research and development of imaging products and drug products and their interaction with the human body from a Physics view. Leads analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods.Communicates across direct organization. Presents to senior leaders in specific technical space and on cross functional teams on how technologies interconnect and contribute to overall strategy. Connects the dots across technologies and develop cross-technology solutions; works on cross-functional projects/teams to deliver technology solutions for the business. Communicates across the function in area of expertise
Duties include (but are not limited to): 1. Develop IQ tools & IQ algorithms for PET/CT & CT systems. 2. Conduct tests for PET/CT such as NEMA, sensitivity , IQ tests using radioactive isotopes such as Ge-68, F-18 FDG etc. 3. Conduct calibration, testing & verification of PET/CT & CT systems. 4. Develop & release product documentation & quality systems documentation for new product development & Install Base . 5. Debugging of issues during product development & Install Base. Perform basic trouble shooting encompassing multiple variables and unknowns to achieve root cause analysis and problem resolution. Conduct experiments and diagnostic tests, as required to draw conclusions 6. Providing domain expertise to serve as the main integrator between the hardware and software functions to deliver the best high quality product 7. Working across functions and team boundaries to define, design, and implement technology solutions on NPI programs 8. Developing methods to quantify subsystem interactions and their effects on image quality 9. Drive system and subsystem assessments and predictions during design 10. Make design recommendations to improve reliability and resolve conflicting requirements Implement reliability growth and/or qualification tests to validate predictions. 11. Works independently and possesses a level of functional expertise necessary to influence and execute technical and project delivery execution. Drive new technology introduction.
Qualifications/Requirements: 1. Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Medical Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or closely related discipline and 5+ years experience in a technical discipline 2 .Proficient in MATLAB coding, C / C++ programming. 3.Strong background in imaging and signal processing algorithms 4. Proven ability to develop timely and effective solutions for challenging design problems 5. Demonstrated problem-solving techniques 6. Demonstrated ability to make recommendations to technical and program leadership to improve the product, process or technology 7. Effective communication skills and boundaryless behavior—ability to present ideas clearly and concisely 8. Demonstrated ability to pursue tasks to completion 9. Broad exposure to HW/SW/Systems design, and technical depth in one or more engineering disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, Software, etc)
Desired Characteristics: 1. PhD / Masters in Electrical/ Electronics/ Biomedical/ Medical Electronics / Nuclear engineering, physics, mathematics or related fields 2. Experience in PET/CT NEMA testing, FDG handling is highly preferred 3. Detector physics + Electronics background is a plus 4.Simulation (simSET or GATE) experience is a plus 4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills 5. Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task 6. Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation
