Role Summary: The Business Development Manager will provide support and leadership in the implementation of the inorganic growth strategy of GE Power, including strategic evaluation of acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures and other business development opportunities, as well as execution of due diligence, financial analysis and assistance in negotiation of agreements.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Business Development Manager, you will:
Work with GE Power business development and business unit leadership to originate and execute strategic in-organic growth opportunities
Work closely with BD Leaders and the BD Finance organization on all M&A-related financial issues, including valuation, deal structuring, and accounting issues
Play a significant role in the preparation and execution of acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and other business combinations
Manage many prospective investment opportunities in various stages of evaluation or execution simultaneously
Manage and coordinate cross-functional execution teams to complete transactions and begin integration
Master's Degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Strategy Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Strategic Planning, Financial Analysis or Corporate Audit Staff
Ability and willingness to travel significantly
Master's Degree in Business Administration from an accredited university or college
Strong technical aptitude
M&A deal experience, particularly in the energy industry
Strong analytical skills, coupled with a solid financial background
Experience working in a large cross-functional, matrix organization
Ability to work in a highly-independent, unstructured, but intensely results-oriented environment
International transaction experience
Strong oral, written and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Strong executive presence
Outstanding business judgment
Demonstrable high energy and the ability to energize others
Demonstrated acceptance and adherence to high ethical, moral and personal values
Proven track record of overcoming obstacles
Ability to work and coordinate with many internal and external stakeholders
