Role Summary: Manage the buying process for a given set of goods. Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets. Positions requiring understanding of a concepts, methods and procedures to enable sourcing execution.
Essential Responsibilities: • Ensure continuity of supply of all production materials, prototype materials and sundry supplies • Analyze MRP reports to ensure timely purchases and delivery of product • Assist and lead in negotiations with new and existing suppliers • Monitor, plan and negotiate supplier agreements • Resolve quality, pricing and delivery issues with suppliers • Recommend and implement purchasing process improvements, including development of new functions and specifications to our in house MRP system. • Perform detailed cost analysis and cost reduction activities • Evaluate potential new suppliers and participate in the qualification process • Timely and effective communication of forecasts and purchase orders to suppliers
Qualifications/Requirements: • Completed courses on supply chain in APICS or PMAC • Minimum 3 years in purchasing in a manufacturing environment • Experience working within MRP systems • Proficient with all Microsoft products • Experience in dealing with global suppliers • Excellent communication skills • Innovative, self- starter who is able to work independently and as part of a multi-skilled team
