Role Summary: The Software Engineer will collaborate with other co-located talented full stack software engineers to design and develop the framework and subsequent services for GE Digital's authentication solutions. They will be integral to defining the future of identities at GE while working in an agile development environment, building state of the art software solutions.
You will be responsible for programming multiple features and or a small feature set. You will contribute to the team and works with direction from the Senior Team Members or management but works independently.
In this role you will:
Has the ability to take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary.
Demonstrate the ability to help team members through pair programming and code reviews.
Demonstrates awareness about product positioning and differentiations.
Has the ability to evaluate basic technology choices and articulate tradeoffs.
Applies principles of SDLC and Lean/Agile/TDD/CI/CD methodologies to deliver high quality,secured, and scalable software modules.
Skilled in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.
Skilled in core data structures and algorithms and implements them using language of choice"
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 2 years of professional experience

Must be willing to work out of an office located in Glen Allen, VA
Experience with web services frameworks and related technologies such as Java, Spring, Springboot, REST, JSON, XML
Experience with opensource authentication protocols and related technology including OpenID Connect, oAuth2.0, and SAML
Experience with directory based technologies and LDAP
Experience with common development practices including CI/CD pipelines, test automation, agile development, distributed version control, etc.
Basic understanding of Identity Management prinicipals
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Effective team building and problem solving abilities
