Role Summary:
The Staff Risk Analyst is an expert in systems, application, infrastructure and ancillary tool security and documentation with knowledge of supporting ITIL processes. This role will be responsible for integration between key stakeholders and formulating wing-to-wing solutions that drive risk and compliance into each layer of the security platform.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • In support of the PMO, have expert knowledge in understanding various system interdependencies and limitations 
  • Demonstrate expert level skill in security problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity 
  • Consult with cross functional CISO organizations to define and document security requirements then transform them into user stories based on deep knowledge of existing GE policies, standards and leading practices 
  • Work with cross functional teams to develop approaches that address risk and regulatory IT compliance gaps to ensure security is addressed at each phase of development
  • Demonstrate superior persuasion and influencing skills to drive alignment between cyber security requirements and product teams
  • Drive new and existing non-commercial applications towards agile, centralized SDLC processes 
  • Provide new and creative outlets on common security gaps based on deep knowledge of internal and external regulatory findings and GE IT Risk Policies and Standards
  • Provide expert knowledge for Product Managers on internal and external regulatory requirements for new product initiatives 
  • Drive entitlement metrics into risk and compliance controls currently leveraging a continuous monitoring approach 
  • Participate in and contribute security requirements for technical design, architecture and strategy of the cloud-based collaboration and productivity tools


  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • BS degree or higher in Computer Engineering or in a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years IT experience, preferably in Risk and Compliance, including experience in documentation, audit assessments and remediation
  • Minimum of 5 years IT experience with product or project management processes and methodologies

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
  • Must be willing to work out of Glen Allen, VA; Van Buren Township, MI; or Cincinnati, OH

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Understands technical and business discussions relative to product security requirements and business goals
  • Express risk in business terms consumable by product management and leadership
  • Capability to translate requirements and risk across a diverse and varied set of products (software, control systems, embedded systems, etc.)
  • Understands cyber security framework and IT Risk standards relative to project work
  • Familiar with cyber security framework (NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, IEC 62443, etc.) implementation and governance
  • Experience conducting assessments of applications and infrastructure against cyber security risk control frameworks or IT Risk Policy or Standards
  • Established Project and Program Management experience; expertise with Agile development methodologies
  • Foster a collaborative and cooperative team environment, encouraging input and participation from all members
  • Demonstrated experience in IT Security, system administration, and documentation
  • Experience in large service provider environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with end user training and branding type communications
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Strong attention to detail and a strong compliance focus
  • Preferable Big 4 Security, Risk and Compliance experience
