Role Summary: The PHM On-Ground Manager will lead an organization of data engineering professionals focused on Aircraft Engines Health Management development. You will have to negotiate program milestones, track and manage budget changes as well as execute technical tasks in order to fulfill customer commitments. You will also be responsible of the technical growth and execution of the team besides maintaining a healthy operation.
Essential Responsibilities: • Build and manage a world class data engineering team • Lead the organization in terms of: Program and Technical Direction, Communication and Team Performance (e.g. Key Performance Indicators) • Establish and execute the team’s vision and strategy, lead and monitor progress of it • Plan, manage and optimize team’s resources. Execute the planning, strategy, financial, resource development, technical and compliance sessions. Achieve the goals established by the business. Partner with other departments across the company • Involved in technical aspects of the team, capable of providing meaningful technical feedback. Lead the execution and assessment of assigned engineering activities to meet project needs. Provide technical leadership to personnel and teams supporting the assigned project • Act as a mentor and coach • Ensure quality of deliverables. Develop and/or support action plans to respond to issues or problems • Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments • Actively contribute on technical and non-technical decisions • Collaborate and coordinate with other organizations such as Engine Performance, Systems Integration, Engine Controls, Air framers and Airlines.
Qualifications/Requirements: • BS Degree in Aeronautics, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Physics Engineering • 8 Years of experience in the industrial field, preferably in Aviation • Proven experience in successfully managing engineering teams for a minimum of 2 years • Excellent oral comprehension abilities and writing and grammar skills in English and Spanish. Must have fluency and rhythm and sufficient self-confidence in the language to be able to handle meetings and negotiations • Able to legally work in Mexico. Desired Characteristics: • Experience on aircraft engines systems and operations • Prognostics and Health Management experience • Experience in software and system requirements engineering • Knowledge of aviation regulations • Master degree in Aeronautics, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Physics Engineering
