Role Summary: The Continuous Improvement Manager will be a self-directed leader tasked with implementing a LEAN culture. This role will be focused on training associates in LEAN processes and tools, and executing constant sustained shop projects and improvements. They will integrate the LEAN process throughout the facility driving quality, cost & productivity. They will be involved in long-term strategic planning, contribute to the overall business strategy and be an active member of the operations team.
Drive lean manufacturing activities and ensure progress while tracking project status and closure
Develop and coordinate lean manufacturing training and education
Leverage / benchmark best practice strategies and drive consistencies across sites when applicable
Create the lean vision and implement a lean strategy to reduce cycle time, inventory, and waste
Drive measurable improvements in process flow
Assist in lean plan execution by leading Action Work-Outs (AWO’s), AMP events, training personnel and other activities to foster a LEAN culture
Serve as division focal point for business-wide LEAN initiatives
Guide functional teams in developing and executing lean plans to reduce cycle time, inventory and waste to improve process quality and create capacity
Promote Lean / Six Sigma integration utilizing the strength of both methods to achieve world-class business goals
Assist functional managers in establishing a process flow
Encourage use of lean tools to pull material from internal sources / customers
Remain current on lean methodologies and train division on lean concepts and mentor people using lean tools
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or university
Minimum 7 years of Supply Chain / Operations experience (Including background in designing, building, and deploying processes that drive Lean Manufacturing practices, Process Optimization (OEE) improvements, and cost out)
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment
10 years of Supply Chain / Operations experience with a strong background in designing, building, and deploying processes that drive Lean Manufacturing practices, Process Optimization improvements and cost out
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an outstanding ability to interact and engage at all levels of the organization- from the shop floor to senior leadership
Proven leader in driving Continuous Improvement through Lean Implementation, functioning as a change agent in an industrial environment
Strong program and project management skills
Proven track record of successfully implementing large cross-functional projects from concept to long term support
Graduate Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Administration from an accredited college or university
Corporate Training Program graduate (manufacturing / operations/ engineering)
Certified Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
Extensive experience leading teams in a complex supply chain / manufacturing environment
