Role Summary: The Supplier Quality Manager will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, be involved in long-term planning, contribute to the overall strategy, and manage complex issues within functional area of expertise that have a direct impact on short and long term goals of the organization.
Position specific to our Engine product and will require expertise in that area
Understand strategies for each sourcing commodity and promoting proactive initiatives while ensuring quality
Be responsible for driving quality for assigned suppliers, improving quality performance via Quality Plan implementation
Understand the processes for Identifying and Qualifying new suppliers (Supplier Selection)
Drive supplier selection through robust qualification processes
Accelerate improvements in supplier quality and deliver value
Develop positive relationships and work in concert with Sourcing Leaders to manage and implement supplier / engineering changes, New Product Introductions, and transfers (Part / Process Approval - NCI)
Interface with Suppliers and Supply chain to drive Quality improvements
Deliver results as measured by key metrics, such as supplier yield, field cost, field defect rate, supplier quality plan engagement / effectiveness, and corrective & preventative action closure
Closely monitor supplier performance to plan and work with the suppliers to manage any required recovery plans, corrective actions and SAP
Drive improvements utilizing Supplier Scorecards, PPM and own Supplier audit, ensuring supplier compliance, and driving improvement plans
Understand and drive Six Sigma quality internally and with suppliers
Plan, organize, implement and direct the application of assigned human and material resources to assure delivery of products and/or services meets established requirements and fulfills customer needs and expectations
Provide value engineering and/or quality control support to Materials, Engineering, Marketing and suppliers for the manufacturing and purchase of high technology hardware
Be responsible for the overall quality of the product, process, and outgoing quality for all material manufactured
Manage and implement the quality system, incorporating all specifications and customer requirements
Provide technical support and guidance to assure product quality and conformance
Establish goals, work plans, and budgets such that lowest cost and highest quality results are achieved
Assure that unit activities comply with all applicable government regulations and contract requirements
Develop and maintain a communication plan to provide employees with adequate information concerning business goals and objectives
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 additional years of experience in Quality environment)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Quality improvement role

Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
