Role Summary: Field Service Engineer to be based at Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad or other large city with good travel connections. The successful applicant will be based from a home office and extensive regular travel would be expected.
Essential Responsibilities: • Supervision of equipment installation to meet GE standards, verifying correct cable terminations and system commissioning. • Working with the Customer appointed Erection Sub-contractor in meeting the project schedules. • Involves frequent travel, undergoing product training and extensive travel including long periods of absence from home office or place of posting. • Following all EHS and Regulatory rules and laws and total compliance to GE / Customer standards. • Expertise with Large Electrical rotating Equipment installed in Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Mining and heavy industry. • Expertise with Excavators Electrical controls, GE PLC’s, SCADA, DC2000, DC-EXX and AC drive controls. • Expertise with Excitation system Ex2100 & Ex2100e drives, Load Commutated Inverter LS2100 & LS2100e and Generator Protection Relays • Expertise in handling various test equipment for Excavator, and Power Generation control. • Expertise with excavator motors and controls, GE PLC’s and DomII, DC2000 and DC-Exx drives, GE Protection devices. • Expertise in handling various test equipment for DC dragline and shovel control. • Support in preparation and submission of “AS COMMISSIONED” drawings and Operation & Maintenance Manuals. • Foster team environment across all functions and across regional sales teams to facilitate success • Provide support to Commercial Operations and Project Managers for quick resolution of issues related to commissioning • Ensure uncompromised compliance to GE Spirit and Letter policies and statutory requirements, function as an ambassador of the business and uphold GE integrity standards in all respects
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree or Associate Degree in Electrical/Electrical and Electronics Engineering or related majors • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in commissioning or maintenance of Large Rotating Equipment and Drive Control System used in Power Generation, Oil & Gas and heavy industry. • Expertise in Digital Drives, HMI Systems and automation equipment. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired Characteristics: Ideal candidate should be comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a product organization with a rapidly expanding customer base. The incumbent should have an experience of handling Govt./ PSU projects and customers. Knowledge of Power Control products such as switchgear & breakers in the LV/MV segment and other control products is essential. Should demonstrate the tendency to challenge the status quo and drive constant improvement in process and ability to achieve organizational goals. We are looking for someone with strong ability to convince the customers / consultant in a professional way earning respect for GE and its products.
