Role Summary: Service Manager to be based in PWV or central to the Witbank area. The successful applicant will be based from a home office or Midrand office as required.
The regional service manager will be responsible for leading the South Africa expansion for this global business. This will be a senior role responsible for building and developing a skilled and high performing service team. The role will require expertise in coordinating internal activities and functions to deliver a superior service and experience to customers. In addition this role will take responsibility for the financial targets for the region and will be involved in long-term planning and strategy.
The candidate will require a thorough working knowledge of:
Breakdown service on rotating and control equipment for mining excavators
Engineering appraisals on rotating and control equipment for mining excavators
Commission rotating and control equipment on upgrades and new mining excavators
Engineering including reviewing &modifying schematics, developing PLC, SCADA and Drive software
Project management, reporting and billing as required
In this role the service manager will also take responsibility for
Training sessions for customers on rotating and control equipment for mining excavators
Identifying opportunities to grow the business via customer relationships and industry network
Manage Utilisation for the team at greater than 75% of available time
Demonstrating a commitment to safety, integrity and relevant legislation for the mining sector
Financial results: Orders, Sales, Contribution Margin and Operating Margin against planned targets
Effective functional team management to achieve key business objectives
Satisfaction of contact with customers, other components of GE and senior management
Budget and operating expense management
Observed behaviors consistent with the GE values
Initiatives that drive increased skilling of team and utilization
Developing GE2GE and GE4GE opportunities
Minimum 10 years of experience in managing a service team in the Mining Industry
Previous experience in sales/marketing would be an added advantage
Must have valid authorization to work full-time without any restriction in the role’s location
Ideal candidate should be comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a product organization with a rapidly expanding customer base
He/She should have an experience of handling Mining & General Industry projects and customers
Knowledge of Power Control products such as switchgear & breakers in the LV/MV segment and other control products is essential
Should demonstrate the tendency to challenge the status quo and drive constant improvement in process and ability to achieve organizational goals
