Role Summary:
The Site Tier 4 Lead Technical Advisor will demonstrate leadership and technical expertise for new Tier 4 locomotives at their respective locations, while providing technical assistance in the maintenance of existing fleet locomotives.In this role you will utilize your experience and technical expertise to train others on proper Tier 4 locomotive maintenance procedures, diagnosing and troubleshooting failures, and developing strategies to enhance overall locomotive fleet performance.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Be responsible for trouble shooting complicated mechanical and electrical problems associated with customer locomotive fleet, with a focus on new Tier 4 models 
  • Provide clear communication to customer employees, customer management, and GE management on work to be performed, equipment status, productivity, and process improvements and liaison with other departments, as necessary 
  • Manage all Tier 4 tooling requests as the site Tier 4 tooling lead 
  • Establish and sustain a culture that promotes a safe and positive work environment 
  • Assure environmental,health, and safety compliance 
  • Support the development and implementation of focused Tier 4 technical training for GE technical staff members, customer leadership team, and craft employees
  • Positively influence customer decision making process to ensure the completion of workscopes and compliance to established procedures 
  • Measure quality execution performance and compliance and ensure corrective actions are implemented for non-compliant findings 
  • Understand and execute locomotive service contract requirements and ensure execution to customer and business commitments


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (Or Associate’s Degree in Technical discipline with a minimum of 2 years of professional work or Military experience) 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Field Operations position 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Management role 
  • Minimal travel as required


Desired Characteristics:
  • Level 1 Certified under the GE Locomotive Service Certification Program or equivalent Locomotive Service certification 
  • Willingness and ability to work various shifts, various days 
  • Willingness and ability to work in shop environment
