Role Summary: The Quality Leader will demonstrate accountability for process and workscope compliance. In this role you will develop and integrate processes to ensure quality output that meets business needs across the Canadian National locomotive maintenance shops.
Develop and maintain a communication plan to provide employees with adequate information concerning process and workscope compliance
Establish the climate that encourages an open two-way channel of communication whereby employees exchange ideas / suggestions and share information
Develop a locomotive bad actor program to identify repeaters and create action plans to identify root causes and resolve
Issue Quality Alerts and ensure understanding and compliance
Provide training on new troubleshooting workscopes and techniques for designated customer locations with an emphasis on service shops with GE presence
Periodically audit shop documentation, workscope compliance and locomotives released for completeness of the assigned work and compliance to established procedures
Identify and correct root cause of locomotive failures resulting from poor workmanship and/or workscope non-compliance. Update workscopes as appropriate
Identify and implement process improvements that focus on improving reliability, enhancing operational effectiveness, eliminate cost, or simplify existing process / procedure.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (Or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a Manufacturing or Office environment)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality System Planning and Quality Improvement methods
Ability to travel to the 6 shops on a regular basis, approximately 30% of the time
Leadership experience in the areas of Operations, Manufacturing, or Quality
Six Sigma Black or Master Black Belt certification or equivalent Quality certification
Executive level presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to excel in all customer service areas
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
