Role Summary:
The Lead Production Specialist (Coach) will be responsible for frontline and/or shift management and defined work or projects with moderate complexity. In this role, you will follow an individual work plan, meet day-to-day objectives, and resolve issues through immediate action and both short and long-term planning.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Provide manufacturing / technical assistance and leadership to assigned work group 
  • Manage production employees and production schedule requirements to include timekeeping, overtime, time off and discipline 
  • Support and meet production schedules, drive productivity and quality initiatives, and manage the area within budget guidelines and controls; 
  • Utilize data analysis to improve safety, decrease quality defects, and increase productivity 
  • Communicate and enforce handbook and other plant policies 
  • Interface with internal and external customers, define priorities for shift and work group leveraging morning production meetings (and shift change meetings, as needed)
  • Actively participate in Environment, Health and Safety initiatives and corrective actions 
  • Actively participate on cross-functional teams and demonstrate necessary leadership and coaching skills to other team members 
  • Help train and develop skills of production employees; educate production employees on business strategy and metrics


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college OR a High School Diploma / GED with at least 4 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing AND/OR 3 military experience


Desired Characteristics:
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, quality, sourcing or operations, management experience 
  • Ability to work effectively on a team and serve as a positive change agent 
  • Strong analytical skills and willingness to learn and work as technical expert 
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize aggressive deadlines 
  • Six Sigma training (GE employees only) 
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills 
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
