Role Summary: The Lead Production Specialist (Coach) will be responsible for frontline and/or shift management and defined work or projects with moderate complexity. In this role, you will follow an individual work plan, meet day-to-day objectives, and resolve issues through immediate action and both short and long-term planning.
Provide manufacturing / technical assistance and leadership to assigned work group
Manage production employees and production schedule requirements to include timekeeping, overtime, time off and discipline
Support and meet production schedules, drive productivity and quality initiatives, and manage the area within budget guidelines and controls;
Utilize data analysis to improve safety, decrease quality defects, and increase productivity
Communicate and enforce handbook and other plant policies
Interface with internal and external customers, define priorities for shift and work group leveraging morning production meetings (and shift change meetings, as needed)
Actively participate in Environment, Health and Safety initiatives and corrective actions
Actively participate on cross-functional teams and demonstrate necessary leadership and coaching skills to other team members
Help train and develop skills of production employees; educate production employees on business strategy and metrics
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college OR a High School Diploma / GED with at least 4 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing AND/OR 3 military experience
Previous experience in manufacturing, quality, sourcing or operations, management experience
Ability to work effectively on a team and serve as a positive change agent
Strong analytical skills and willingness to learn and work as technical expert
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize aggressive deadlines
Six Sigma training (GE employees only)
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
