Role Summary: Develop Technical/Commercial Proposals and assist with driving Commercial Operations Inquiry to Order processes for GE’s Industrial Solutions business. These will include, but not necessarily be limited to, opportunities located in North America & US Based Cross Pole Transactions. This will require an in depth understanding of the various products and functions within GE Industrial Solutions Electrical Distribution business.
Essential Responsibilities: In this role, you will:
• Develop timely, comprehensive and professional project proposals with key metrics of proposal volume, on-time delivery, hit-rate/win-rate and profitability • Interpret Drawings, Data Sheets and Specifications to understand and adhere to design intent • Utilize GE’s Electrical Distribution and Control product configuration tool (empower) for field-quotable products/solutions • Develop/Maintain relationships with all key functions, including but not limited to: Sales, Factory Quotations, Application Engineering, Project Operations and Product Management • Interface extremely closely with Sales Managers & Strategic Customers (as required) to develop understanding of CTQ's for growth • Leverage breadth and depth of Commercial Operations team by collaborating with peers and manager • Possess/Increase domain expertise of GE’s product offerings and solutions • Assist in coordination between GE businesses to best leverage the full product/solution portfolio that GE has to offer our customers • Proactively suggest alternates and options (where possible) to reduce cost, improve value to customer and increase profitability • Address and understand commercial factors such as project duration and basic terms and conditions • Aggressively pursue and attend any training opportunities that would provide benefit for Commercial Operations functions
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (or a High School Diploma / GED • Minimum 5 years of previous project quotations experience • Minimum 5 years of experience working in the electrical distribution industry
Desired Characteristics: • Knowledge of GE’s Electrical Distribution product portfolio or a competitor’s equivalent product portfolio • Knowledge of GE’s configuration platform (empower) or a competitor’s equivalent tool • Experience working with EPCs, Utilities, Industrial End Users, OEMs, etc. • Understanding of complex products such as Medium Voltage Switchgear, Low Voltage Switchgear, Motor Control Centers, Variable Frequency Drives, etc. • Change agent with strong credibility and ability to influence in the organization • Demonstrated ability to motivate others and achieve results • Demonstrated commitment for process improvement • Customer-focused in defining quality and establishing priorities • Ability to leverage wide variety of electronic tools to stay organized and communicate effectively remotely (i.e. Usage of Microsoft Outlook, Salesfore.com, Skype, etc.) • Strong oral and written communication skills • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills (preferred)
