Role Summary: As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and programming a small module or a large component and designing a feature. She/he will work independently and contribute to the immediate team and to other teams across business.
Essential Responsibilities: 1) Perform a variety of data loads & data transformations to implement cloud based data warehouse & operational reporting optimized for appropriate source data extraction 2) Working knowledge of methods for parsing, formatting, & transforming data into units consistent with analytical needs 3) Identify the scope of the work, provide initial estimate and justify the estimate with facts 4) Work closely with your peers and keep engaging in a fast pace technical design and development team 5) Be good in assessing application performance and optimizing/improving it through design and best coding practices 6) Proficient in Cloud technologies and at least on ETL tool
Qualifications/Requirements: 1) Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) 2) Hands on experience with SQL datastores such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc 3) A minimum of 1 year of experience using AWS cloud technologies 4) A minimum of 2 years of Database/Data Warehouse, SQL (Oracle, Greenplum, etc.) experience is required
Desired Characteristics: 1) Experience with Oracle database 2) Experience with SQL, PL/SQL and SQL script programming 3) ETL Design and Development, Optimize SQL Queries, Design and Develop Data migration scripts, Procedures, Functions and Triggers. 4) Analyze existing SQL / ETL Scripts and fine tune them to achieve optimal performance 5) Understand the business priorities and requirements, architect/develop solutions to meet the business need and lead execution. #DTR
