Role Summary: As an intern with the Quality Assurance department, gain experience in the Aviation industry, develop workplace personal skills, and learn technical skills in Manufacturing Quality, Inspection Technology, and Metrology/Metallurgical Laboratories.
Essential Responsibilities: Assist the Quality Engineer in the following: - enhancement of System and Standard operating procedures for Metrology and Metallurgy Laboratories; - implementing simplification of Laboratory processes with digitization of test forms and communication; - improve laboratory process flow and efficiency; Perform Contact / Non-contact inspection system qualification with Gage R&R and correlation studies.
Qualifications/Requirements: Engineering related Degree, Aerospace, Mechanical, Material Science, Year 3 Basic understanding of mechanical engineering & material principles, Basic project management skills.
Desired Characteristics: • Ability to understand technical drawings & specifications, • Knowledge on statistical tools for data analysis, such as Gage R&R. • Knowledge on geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). • Self-disciplined, able to work independently with good time management. • Open to learning and be engaging with the engineers. • Strong communication and problem solving skills.
