Role Summary:
The Human Resources Manager will work closely with Operational leaders, other Human Resources Managers, salaried employees, four Unions on site and the represented hourly workforce to achieve business objectives and promote positive Union relations.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Provide advice and counsel to management and employees to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures, and practices
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with Union leadership
  • Administer and support all GE and GE Transportation HR policies and initiatives within the constituent plants
  • Be responsible for the administration of grievance procedure, negotiation of local contracts with constituent unions, and administration of collective bargaining agreements
  • Partner with business leaders on multiple human resource issues, including the following: policies, processes, and practices; evaluation and development of personnel, annual reviews; implementation of process improvement (Six Sigma / Lean), including leading change initiatives, planning, and facilitation; staffing and pipeline development
  • Investigate and provide counsel / advice regarding concerns about contractual issues
  • Work with leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive work environment, which encourages the full use of diverse talents and abilities; act as an employee advocate; help drive various business initiatives
  • Establish, modify, and support local HR practices and policies as required
  • Responsible for investigations, conflict resolution, employee communications and management coaching


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a human resources generalist


Desired Characteristics:
  • HR experience in a unionzed Manufacturing environment
  • Master's degree in Business Administration or Human Resources is preferred (MHR, MILR, MBA)
    HRLP graduate (GE only)
  • Proven training ability
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
