Role Summary:
The Senior Commodity Leader – Commissioning & Installation (C&I) role will be accountable for functional, business and broad company objectives. In this role, you will manage and develop a supply base that meets business needs across the organization. These needs include Civil and Electrical Balance of Plant (BOP), Installation Cranes, Construction & Commissioning Contractors, and specific Site Facilities. Overall strategic buy > $70MM.

Essential Responsibilities:
In addition, you will:

  • Lead the Commissioning and Installation Sourcing in EMEA to achieve variable cost productivity, deflation targets, cash flow, and controllership goals (e-Auctions, second source development, tooling initiatives, etc.)
  • Lead the supplier selection, validation, development, and overall supplier management, including managing the entire contract life cycle from Request for Proposal to supplier exit
  • Support the development of a qualification process for your commodities and ensure any quality issues have the appropriate focus together with the Project Management Team
  • Develop and execute master agreements with 3rd party providers/suppliers to support the Wind business sourcing strategy minimize risk / liability to the business and lock in rates in support of Project Schedules and Execution
  • Leverage synergies with Service Sourcing to minimize risks and costs
  • Provide ITO support with estimated costs of Cranes, EPC Type Contracts, Construction Contractors (mechanical & electrical) in EMEA markets
  • Develop technical and market expertise in the commodity areas


    • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university (technical preferred)
    • Strong experience in Commissioning & Installation Sourcing (Civil and Electrical BOP, Outbound Logistic, Construction & Commissioning contractors, site facilities) including negotiating, identifying opportunities, selecting suppliers, and implementing contracts
    • EU Work Permit

    Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain. They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement.

    • Wind Product/Business/Industry knowledge and background
    • Demonstrated Negotiation Skills
    • Working knowledge of sourcing buy to pay processes, Oracle Purchasing System experience
    • High motivation, leadership, and influencing skills
    • Proactive self-starter with ability to work with limited day to day direction
    • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills
    • Have proven project management and process improvement skills
    • Strong quantitative & data analysis skills. specific skills should include: data-mining, pivot tables, data manipulation, etc
    • Ability to perform scenario analysis and strategy development
    • Demonstrated technical aptitude and business acumen
    • Black Belt Certified
