Role Summary: In this position you will develop and support high-quality products according exacting engineering standards for demanding customers. You will be responsible for complex PCB layout designs of leading-edge embedded computer platforms based on x86 and other architectures. Additionally, you would work with local and international design teams to plan schedules, resolve costs, manufacturing, and electrical design issues.
Execute the PCB layout design of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
Close co-operation with other engineering teams during board development
Participate actively in design reviews
Investigate, evaluate and implement new PCB technologies and processes
Maintain technical coordination within Engineering, Test and Manufacturing
Maintenance of tool chain and support of internal engineering
Resolve PCB design issues with fabrication and manufacturing vendors
Proactively participates in the evolution and definition of Design For Manufacturing (DFM) guidelines
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar (Bachelor of Science/FH Degree, Master/University Degree
Minimum of 3 years of experience performing PCB layout design
Experience in component library maintenance
Understanding of the driving PCB technology and process trends
‘Can-do' attitude with experience of working on own initiative within a changing environment
Experience with state of the art development and simulation tools
Target driven, capable of taking ownership ensuring deadlines are met
Good self-management skills
Fluency in German and English
Experience with Mentor Graphics design tool chain
Experience in using signal and power integrity tools (e.g. HyperLynx SI/PI)
Basic Expertise in industrial regulatory standards and safety
