Essential Responsibilities: • The Technical Regulations and Standards (TR&S) Engineer will provide Product Compliance and Modality expertise, while working with the modality to ensure that our GE M&S products are designed and sustained to be compliant and safe to ship to all applicable global regions. • Product Compliance and modality expertise – The TR&S Engineer will identify all product legislation that impacts products within their modality and drive compliance. • NPI Projects - TR&S Engineer will integrate with product NPI teams to ensure products are designed to meet TRS requirements. • Sustaining Projects – Support global TR&S team in getting product approvals for modality specific products to new legislation. TR&S Engineer will proactively monitor and sustain product compliance certificate expirations for their modality. • SAP GTS – The TR&S Engineer will be responsible create and maintain product licenses in the GTS tool. • Documentation – TR&S Engineer will work with design teams to ensure product requirements traceability from PRD to SRS to PBCS, or projects from Quote to TCP. Support teams on completion of PBCS/TCP. • Compliance testing – Assist NPI team in specifying and performing product compliance testing for new and sustaining products. Liaison with test labs as needed to ensure that product testing is being done accurately
Qualifications/Requirements: • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Oil & Gas or related industry • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (GE employees only) • 3+ years of hands-on experience in regulatory approvals and regulations in major regions. • 3+ years of hands-on experience in a new product development environment. • A team player - must be proactive and creative. • Self-motivated, must be able to multi-task in a dynamic environment and handle pressure from project schedule and technical challenge. • Must have a working knowledge of Asian directives. Desired also European Union directive knowledge such as the LVD and EMC, and corollary harmonized technical standards. • Excellent interpersonal & written & verbal communication skills • Experience with one of more of the product legislation categories that impact GE equipment including, but not limited to: Lithium Ion Batteries, Electrical Safety, EMC, Lasers, Machine safety, Pattern Approval, Power adapter approvals, Wireless approvals. • Experience with one or more of the following global product compliance approvals including, but not limited to: NRTL, FCC, MIL-STD, CCC, NOM, PSE, KC, IRAM, SABS, GOST R, CU TR, RCM, or EU legislation (ATEX, EMC, Low Voltage, Machinery, Pressure, R&TTE).Strong organization skills, and Program/Project management skills. • Meticulous attention to detail. Experience within a similar, high variety, electro-mechanical environment.
