Role Summary: Lead the Data & Analytics Platform Operations team. This role is responsible for providing leadership, architectural expertise, structure and resources to provide best in class operational support for Big Data services & capabilities. Ensures smooth quarter and monthly close cycles for supported platforms, establishing metrics, processes and talent pool capable of driving continuous improvement and efficiently scaling up the organization as additional business units are transitioned in.
Lead a team of operations resources focused on the support & delivery of all Big Data solutions and platforms both on-premise & in the cloud
Create a consistent communication rhythm on organization and operations status, keeping IT leadership, global operations finance and functional partners in synch with overall initiative outcomes, establishing a full wing to wing closing applications operational support model, driving closing cycle time and service level improvements.
Operate in an Operations model, teaming with on-going program deployment teams, ensuring new applications and releases comply with standards and best practices that are optimized for supportability.
Provide strategic oversight and drive team optimization and individual team member growth
Build & maintain strategic relationships with GE business units, Corporate, Global Ops, IT & Finance leaders that supports business growth & aligns to GE's simplification strategy
Be the escalation point for all critical platform issues
Promote the company culture by encouraging open communication, teamwork and living of the GE Beliefs
Manage day to day IT ERP Operations resource pool by actively leading a team of GE direct reports & contingent workforce
Guide and mentor team to align individual G&Os to organizational objectives, resolve issues & deliver team commitments
Work closely with functional partners, business units and finance IT to define and drive process improvements as part of the overall Enterprise Standards initiative
Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing best practices and habits
Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedure; ensuring appropriate metrics, controls & SOPs are in place & driving the appropriate behaviors. Manage team training programs and ensure team is well crossed trained and well-motivated to achieve
Manage client & vendor problem resolution and escalation
Complete root cause analysis of defects and implement controls to mitigate repetitive issues
Set up multi-generation plans to improve operations, managing IT spend and lead cost-out projects
Drive adherence to Financial & IT Compliance standards (SOX, ISO) by minimizing exception processes and creating streamlined or automated solutions for gaps
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering, Finance or other technical related fields (OR a minimum 6 years of relevant work experience)
Minimum 10 years’ overall experience in Information Technology delivering high impact technology solutions
Minimum of 5 years in applications development and/or operational environments

Demonstrated ability to operationally oversee large scale financial platforms and applications
Demonstrated ability to establish operational performance metrics and drive continuous efficiencies and improvements for systems, processes, and resources
Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer, builds strong customer relationships, creates processes with customer viewpoint and partners with customers to help shape their future initiatives
Demonstrated experience in project or program management
Dynamic leader & strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various stakeholders
Strong analytical and strong problem solving skills - communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions
Experience working across multiple functions and with global resources
Six Sigma certificated
Strong ability to identify, recruit & develop both seasoned and junior IT talent
Experience leading both local and remote (international) resources
Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and / or industry activities
