Role Summary: As Sr. Design Analyst, you will provide critical, front line support to the Sales & Project Execution teams. You will have primary responsibility for assessing and creating initial solar designs for customer (using Helioscope, AutoCAD, etc.), running energy rate analysis, creating solar energy production models, and coordinating much of the analysis done in the early stages of the sales cycle.
In addition you will :
Conduct initial portfolio analysis
Review and analyze portfolios for large customers: 10 to 100+ sites
Conduct Helioscope reviews for early and budgetary stage projects— system sizing, AEP
Help prepare presentations, specifically layout and graphs
Create 3D layouts and / or videos for customer presentations
Run financial models as needed: excel modeling, payback periods
Run cost estimates for early and budgetary stage projects, working with Engineering as needed
Serve as technical expert for early and budgetary stage sales pitch
Conduct energy rate and solar offset analysis: analyze utility bills, run energy rate analysis utilizing Excel as well as online software tools, conduct net metering analysis
Assist with Interconnection Applications and interaction with the Utility when needed
Run AEP analysis in PVsyst for late stage opportunities, projects in construction, and fully operational systems
Help Engineering team with CAD drawings on occasion and when needed
Run desktop performance testing analysis for project close-out
Work closely and collaboratively with other functional teams including:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 5 years of work experience in the Solar Industry (Including a minimum of 2 yrs in engineering and technical specifications of Solar Photovoltaic Systems)
Minimum of 3 years of experience using AutoCAD, Helioscope, PV Syst, Solmetric SunEye and PV Analyzer or similar technology
Passionate about the solar and renewable energy business with a strong commitment to working hard in a fast paced environment with limited daily supervision
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders
Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Familiarity with all MS Office products
Strong Analytical skills
Technically self - sufficient and highly motivated
Strong technical writing ability
