Role Summary: The Senior Reliability Engineer is the champion for reliability across Anesthesia and Respiratory Care (ARC) within GEHC. The Senior Reliability Engineer is the technical leader that works with the Chief Engineer to define the goals and program needs for the product programs within ARC. The position maintains a deep and broad understanding of reliability methods, test equipment and processes.
Essential Responsibilities: The Senior Reliability Engineer will provide technical and organizational skills to lead the development of reliability requirements and evaluate emerging & established technologies against product requirements to support robust designs within ARC. Specific tasks include:
1. Develop and define the strategy for incorporating and deploying new tools, methods, and processes to address the quality and reliability needs of GEHC ARC globally. 2. Understand the trends in healthcare industry; use them in defining the strategy 3. Promote and teach the Design-for-Reliability (DFR) methodologies across hardware, software, and systems integration programs. 4. Lead ARC wide reliability discussions to communicate and coordinate best-practices, and emerging issues. Connect with external entities and bring industry best practices back to ARC. 5. Develop the business case for reliability programs and communicate benefits to senior management in engineering and quality organizations. 6. Create, review and approve reliability planning, testing, and analysis activities within both New Product Introduction (NPI) and Installed Base (IB) program teams. 7. Ensure quality and reliability requirements are incorporated into the specifications of ARC products. 8. Contribute to the execution of Technical Design Reviews help ensure they are complete and effective 9. Be a technology advocate in business and customer interactions. 10. Attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent.
Qualifications/Requirements: BS Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering and 7 years of relevant work experience. Experience mentoring and coaching engineers. Must be able to work effectively in a global cross-functional team environment Strong communication skills and a documented publication/patent record.

Provides an environment in which others can share ideas. 4. Advanced degree in an engineering discipline. 5. Experience with government regulatory agencies and audit processes (i.e. FDA, FAA, NRC, etc.). 6. Experience in Reliability /Serviceability as applicable to Medical Equipment. 7. CRE, ASQ or Six Sigma certification as a Black Belt or Master Black Belt. 8. A minimum of 5 years experience with the Design for Reliability (DFR) and associated reliability processes. 9. A minimum of 2 years experience with managing and collaborating with global teams.
