Role Summary: The Director – Digital Operations database leader lead a multi-disciplinary operations teams to focus on service delivery of database services consumed by GE businesses. These teams are composed of highly talented individuals obsessively focused on fast, efficient implementation, 24/7 availability and performance. The ideal individual is relentlessly technical, passionate for automating everything and totally committed to delivering world class solutions.
Essential Responsibilities: In this role, you will:
Manage the work deliverables of the platform/product/solution, large portfolio of products or multiple components within a platform product.
Execute the Product Strategy and manage associated direct and indirect costs
Define the operating structure, processes, procedures, and talent profiles required to build a world class team
Manage performance and availability, while adhering to compliance and regulatory requirements
Develop automated solutions to address potential problems before they result in a service interruption
Build customer obsessed culture that focuses on customer success as its primary goal
Provide leadership and hands-on technical direction to deliver problem, solution, tactical, and break-fix capability
Available 24x7 to lead critical issue/problem resolution to complex problems where analysis requires in-depth evaluation with imaginative and innovative troubleshooting and experimentation
Manage agile teams; dotted line help as well
Manage other people managers and/or technical leads/individual contributors.
Demonstrate ability to lead through others; leads multiple agile teams.
Provide strategic inputs into budget planning, product pricing, and other business activities.
Provide coaching, feedback, developmental opportunities, etc. to direct/indirect reports within a broader team.
Bachelor’s Degree in business, computer science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) OR in lieu of a degree: a HS diploma/GED and minimum 4 years of IT experience or equivalent military experience/training.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT database solution development / database administration / operational support.

Must be able to work out of the Buckhead office.
Knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, PosgreSQL, MySQL
Experience with revision control source code repositories (Git, SVN, Mercurial, Perforce)
Experience in management of continuous integration servers like Jenkins, Bamboo and TeamCity
Experience with seamless/automated build scripts used for release management across all environments
Experience with Orchestration tools such as Scalr, Cliqr, etc
Understanding and experience with code deployment (tagging)
Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA and REST)
Familiarity with any monitoring tools like Sensu, Graphana/Graphite, Incinga, SiteScope, etc.
Familiarity with CloudFormation and JSON
Working knowledge of software issue resolution and root cause analysis, administration, and knowledge of deploying applications into an enterprise service bus
Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership with strong relationship management ability
Strong technical expertise in the underlying design and architecture of database solutions in both physical and cloud environments.
Strong Business Analysis skills and ability to translate requirements to enterprise software features
Experience leading teams in a formal software development lifecycle environment following a formal project management and governance process
Familiarity with waterfall and iterative software implementation approaches (Agile, XP, DSDM, Lean and FDD)
Experience in areas such as caching, APIs, data transfer, scalability, and security
Expert proficiency in tools supporting SDLC such as Jira, Rally, Aris, MS Project, SmartSheet, LoadRunner, etc.
Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technologies and approaches to solving problems
Skilled in breaking down problems and estimating efforts
Has the ability to propose, analyze impact and recommend appropriate technology choices
Skilled in negotiation to align stakeholders and communicate a single synthesized perspective to the product development team. Balances value propositions from competing stakeholders.
Demonstrates awareness of the competitive environment and its impact on the product
Demonstrates knowledge of technologies in the market to actively participate in buy vs build recommendations, drive market timing decisions and scope of MVPs
