Role Summary: This role is focused on gas turbine control system applications including; developing and sustaining gas turbine application software, defining project execution processes and tools, implementing new product features for product improvement or new regulatory requirements, and providing technical input to sales and commercial teams. You will work closely with the business’s Senior Engineers to ensure best practices are applied to product development, product sustaining and project execution.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Gas Turbine Controls Engineer, you will:
Clearly articulate the technical requirements / specifications and develop control system software for gas turbine control systems on GE and non-GE gas turbines including; auxiliary system operation, start-up and shutdown sequencing, fuel delivery and combustion, etc.
Develop engineering processes and tools to support execution of projects
Apply knowledge of industry practices and international standards to produce high-quality and cost effective designs
Support streamlining of engineering processes and business growth
Maintain turbine control software, engineering processes, and tools, implementing lessons learned and continuous improvement
Perform engineering design reviews of OTR projects
Support customer meetings, OTR project engineering / design, factory acceptance testing, and installation and commissioning of control systems if the business requires additional transactional capabilities or support for new / complex applications
Provide technical support for sales / commercial teams
Provide technical support for OTR and field engineering teams
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years of experience in Engineering position focused on gas turbine control system applications
Travel15% of the time, as required
Industrial Gas Turbine Controls experience on a variety of OEM equipment, with a focus on Aero-Derivative applications
Field Service experience in the installation, start-up, and commissioning of gas turbine controls
Mark V / Mark VI / Mark Vie control system experience
Experience with Product Development methodologies
Demonstrated ability to meet agreed upon goals and measurements
Strong process discipline with sound analytical and statistical skills
Strong customer service mindset
Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously
Proficient in the use of PC software applications
Proficient in the use, application, development, and sustainment of turbine control application software
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving ability and adept at communicating with several levels of the organization
Strong influence, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
