GE Aviation – Electrical Power, LI (EP-LI) is a predominately US Military supplier providing equipment

Role Summary:
Performs a variety of complex tasks in the design, development, modification, troubleshooting and testing of products. Works from general instructions and technical specifications; applies technical knowledge to assist engineering in the development of new products.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoots electronic products to component & sub-assembly level and provides technical guidance to Engineering and Operations Technicians in troubleshooting and development of prototype and production hardware.
• Ability to construct breadboards to test the design of new products (Engineering)
• Provides technical support to Engineering & Operations in the transition of new products from Engineering test to Production Test
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications with the ability to submit redline procedure changes.
• Maintains detailed records of test procedures, test data and modification as required
• Identifies root cause and corrective actions; engaged in Failure Review Process (FRB) and troubleshoots prototype hardware to identify problems and recommends solutions.
• Utilizes complex test equipment to test complex electronic products and validate design including formal product qualification testing (Environmental and EMI).
• Uses product test and measurement equipment, Digital/Analog Voltmeters, oscilloscopes, Hi-Pot meters, power supplies, and Automatic and Standard Test Equipment, etc.
• Cross - trains, mentors and provides technical assistance to other technicians including but not limited to other Technician 2's & Technician 3's
• Provides escalated technical guidance to Assemblers
• Performs cross functional tasks within fairly similar situations resulting in standardized but not identical outcomes
• Suggests & performs corrections and simplification to test procedures, schematics and fixtures
• Evaluates and recommends process improvements and the purchase of new test equipment
• Ensures that all relevant quality information/feedback is provided
• Utilizes written or visual instructions involving use of quantitative information from specifications, graphs, pictures, dials, gages, etc.
• Provides written and/or oral communications concerning a variety of situations following test, troubleshooting, examinations, etc.
• Keeps workstation, tools and equipment in a neat and orderly manner
• Understands and complies with all Company, safety rules and regulations
• Engages and participates in a self – directed teaming environment

Qualifications/Requirements:
Requirements/Knowledge:
 Education Required: 2- year degree in Electronics or related field; OR Certified Electronics Program (18 mos.) OR 4-year degree in Electronics Engineering Technology (EET) or related field; Preliminary Review (PR) Certification must be obtained within Probationary period.
 Experience: 2-year degree plus 5+ years of manufacturing experience; OR Certified program (18 months) plus 5+ years of manufacturing experience; OR 4-year degree plus 3-5 years of manufacturing experience
 Skill Level Required: Knowledge of the operation and use of Electronic Production Test equipment and hand assembly tools used in a high tech Surface Mount & Through-Hole Technology manufacturing & production environment; Knowledge of advanced electronic test and troubleshooting techniques to component level; Must have a high level of electrical & mechanical aptitude & analytical skills. Must have an understanding of manufacturing process and be able to effectively troubleshoot problems; Should possess dexterity skills, good hand & eye coordination. Ability to perform basic circuit design and analysis. and generate technical reports. Must maintain Preliminary Review (PR) Certification within first 6 months.

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Desired Characteristics:
 Bachelor’s degree in engineering related field
 Past experience in a manufacturing environment
 Past experience in a self-directed teaming environment
 Lean manufacturing knowledge
 High voltage training and experience
 Understanding of IPC-A-610 standards, soldering
