Role Summary:

As the Staff Enterprise Application Engineer you will be responsible for critical applications that support the Security & Crisis Management functions. You will own the wing-to-wing lifecycle for these applications including the support activities, and execution of new projects. To be successful you would need to demonstrate strong technical acumen and great customer focus.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Architect and design sound/supportable technical solutions to complex business requirements
  • Evaluate requests for enhancements and determine potential impacts with the current system design/configuration
  • Code complex/integrated customizations and/or solutions
  • Provide support and maintenance of existing customizations and application functionality
  • Triage/debug production issues (Data, Code, Performance, Security, etc.), identify root cause and corrective actions
  • Partner with cross-functional team members to assess their business needs and recommend IT solutions
  • Develop new Pages/Reports/Interfaces
  • Develop new application enhancements
  • Write technical specifications
  • Document system changes
  • Review technical designs to ensure compliance with organizational standards
  • Train/Mentor less experienced resources


Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology/related field
  • Minimum 4 years development experience with complex changes using PeopleTools and related technologies (i.e. PeopleCode, SQR, Application Engine, Component Interfaces, and COBOL)
  • Minimum 4 years of development experience with PeopleSoft HCM (Payroll, Benefits, and/or Pension Administration)

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel (10%
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Van Buren Township.


Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience supporting Physical Access Control systems such as Lenel OnGuard, PicturePerfect, C-Cure, FcWnx
  • Experience supporting Property management & Lease Accounting systems such as CoStar
  • Microsoft Windows Operating System expertise including Active Directory, SQL, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP and commands
  • Ability to design and develop Powershell scripts that schedule OnGuard application services
  • Lenel OnGuard Certification (optional)
  • Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Software Design Patterns and Java coding principles
  • Experience in Javascript, HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Experience in authentication and authorization protocols like OAuth2, Open ID Connect
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly understand new concepts and analyze system deficiencies
  • Passionate about security and the quality of the applications they support
  • Organized, thorough, and detail oriented
  • Collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources
  • Eager to learn, shares ideas, encourages and accepts feedback well
  • Strong analytical skills – strong problem solving skills, communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve
  • Interested in current and emerging technologies
  • Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships and creates processes from the customer's viewpoint
  • Experience working with an off-shore development team
  • High level of energy and enthusiasm, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting
