Role Summary: The SPS Engineering Manager will drive project coordination, execution and communication across multiple engineering product lines and include ITO and OTR responsibilities. In addition, the individual will be responsible for coordination between product line engineering teams to ensure successful completion of activities on-time and on-budget.
Essential Responsibilities: The role will include the responsibility and coordination of the PEM’s (Project Engineering Managers) or Leads for: Tress (XT), Controls (PCS) and Manifolds, and Connections Systems (MCS). The Engineering Manager will also work closely with the Sales staff, Project Directors and ITO Leadership (as required) and report into the Global Subsea Projects and Systems Engineering Manager.
In the role of Engineering Manager - Functional Management, you will:
Be responsible for developing and maintaining the technical relationships with the clients
Own the detailed OTR engineering integrated planning and execution to the plan
Coordinate Engineering Center of Excellence (COE) activities to achieve overall budgeted hours for all packages
Lead regularly scheduled reviews that track progress and spending by team
Monitor, explain and resolve any deviations from the early baseline on the S-curve for Engineering
Drive on-time delivery through regular meetings and detailed team engagement
Issue and approve man power needs to execute the schedule and any additional scope
Establish cost analysis based on tasks and milestones bopth for ITO OTR and FEED Projects
Track and trend all engineering spending, managing the cost and resource plans as necessary
Maintain cost analysis, explain and resolve any deviations from the allocated costs within each of the OTR or FEED project engineering teams
Track efficiency factors on OTR and FEED projects and forecast project impacts based on changes
Develop and execute corrective actions as necessary to meet schedule / plan deliverables
Escalate issues if needed in systems or the product team leadership to resolve
Utilize the Technical Control Board to resolve issues and collaborate within the engineering product lines
Drive Configuration Control within the product subsystems to prevent changes that will impact cost & schedule
Track schedule beyond engineering deliverables to ensure support throughout the entire production cycle on a part by part basis
Champion systems and projects engineering to identify and resolve any changes in specifications or product requirements
Provide leadership and direction in projects to the product line engineering teams
Overall responsibility and coordination of the qualification related to product line engineering
TQP’s FMECA’s coordination and support, including the budget and key milestones in plan
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum 7 years of experience in Engineering and/or Project Management with experience in positions as product testing / validation, project engineering, systems engineering, project management or process improvement / Lean / Six Sigma
