Role Summary: The Crane Operator will participate in the daily operation and production of equipment. In this role will perform assignments as directed by the Field Services Manager, and other assignments as required. The Crane Operator will work effectively with other work groups, including; Safety, Sales, Maintenance, other personnel, and Management.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Crane Operator you will:
Analyze work orders to determine information such as; material to be used, type of operations, sequence of operations required, and comply with all standard operating procedures
Plan, organize, and direct work location activities
Conduct regular scheduled audits and inspections of equipment and tools, work in progress, finished products, and document the findings, including; pre-operational crane and truck inspections
Comply with and enforce all company policies and safety regulations
Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
Analyze and resolves work problems or assist workers in solving work problems
Maintain time and service order records
Work cooperatively with co-workers to accomplish service requirements
Provide training and mentor new service employees
High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution
Certified Crane Operator - NCCCO Certified
Minimum of 1 year operating a crane
Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
Lift objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
Be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time
To the extent that you are applying for a position that requires you to operate a GE owned / leased or rented vehicle for company business, you must be willing to submit to a check of your driving record
Must possess a valid California driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record
Possess and maintain a CDL Class B
Climb, operate a clutch, gearshift, and other manual controls of the truck
Use wrenches, to remove or secure bolts on pumping unit
Work in adverse weather conditions, including; high wind and high and low temperatures for several hours at a time
Assist in carrying parts and tooling for pumping units of substantial weight (Not to exceed 40 lbs)
Use mathematical ability, calculate weight of loads to be lifted, and verify load within capacity of crane
Knowledge of pumping unit repairs
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Field Service Crew Lead
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to interpret and analyze a variety of instructions and training information
