Role Summary: The Product Technical Owner will be responsible for managing technical aspects of the Bently products – Seismic/Purchased Sensors, Interface Modules, Rotor/Recip Kits, Accessories. This person will work closely with product line management and engineering team to ensure continued product vitality for these products.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Product Technical Owner you will:
Manage and prioritize overall product backlog including defect backlog / bugs, CRDs and product enhancements
Manage technical support cases ensuring that they are appropriately prioritized, communicated and resolved as per commitment
Ensure that CIR cases are staffed and closed on time
Identify gaps in products, recommend enhancements / NPIs and engage with product line management team to prioritize these requirements
Engage with product engineering team and ensuring that resources are working on the highest priority items
Define, Initiate and Drive DMP programs
Own product security and reliability
Manage the small changes / enhancements that affect their product - if it affects multiple aspects be the key point of contact to ensure consistency
Acting as the project manager for the larger defects / backlog items being worked to ensure they are executed on time
Own the stop orders for their products: a. Be the project manager for the stop orders b. Drive stop order to completion in a timely manner c. Work with all departments to drive a coordinated effort d. Be the single point of contact for the stop order e. Ensure meeting minutes are developed and distributed with action items and owners f. Follow up to ensure actions are being executed if necessary
Maintain proactive 3-year outlook of what is coming for the product line (TRS, EOL, PIs, etc.)
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum 3 years of experience in an engineering role with product and design experience
Strong ability to work in a global team setting with demonstrated effective skills in leading technical teams
Strong familiarity with the organization’s core technologies: tools and product offerings
Experience of interacting with customers, defining and driving technical solutions
Product management experience
Being a change agent capable of influencing at all organizational levels
Strong familiarity with product applications, market segments and customer segments
Effective communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to inspire excellence and stimulate change.
GB certification for internal candidates
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Bently Nevada scanning systems and portable products
