Role Summary:
The Strategic Account Manager has responsibility for managing the sales and commercial for our small industrial products division. The role has accountability for growing the business across a number of strategic accounts, coordinating with regional sales and commercial operations, marketing, product, project functional organizations and the service business to deliver sustainable and profitable growth with this key customer.



Essential Responsibilities:
As the Strategic Account Manager, you will:

  • Establish high level relationships with customers to promote small industrial motor products
  • Develop joint strategies by region, work with product management and marketing to develop long term technology / product road-maps and be the Voice of the Customer back within the GE organization
  • Lead customer account management, coordinating with GE and customer teams both regionally and at HQ level to deliver sustained growth in the top line (orders intake) of the business
  • Ensure GE Small Industrial Products have a favorable consideration in all of the customers' projects
  • Identify, develop, and support the regional sales and operations teams to close sales opportunities
  • Identify, understand, and communicate to other GE business the customers' key expectations, from both project specific and their business needs in general
  • Work effectively in a horizontal functional team environment with Commercial Operations, Technical Operations, Engineering, Finance, Service and Project management to deliver a world class customer experience around the companies three key metrics of OTD, Quality and Responsiveness
  • Be accountable for orders, convertibility, pricing / profitability, risk, terms & conditions, and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure accurate and current project and opportunity information is maintained with the CRM system and ensure compliance with the Inquiry to Order ("ITO") process across all of the client’s active opportunities
  • Participate in and support trade shows, conferences, and other market development activities, including maintaining knowledge of market trends, customer requirements, competitor actions, and customer base
  • Work with Marketing and Product Leadership to develop new products and services for business growth


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Finance discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant sales and/or contract management experience  



Desired Characteristics:
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration
  • Practical understanding of industrial markets including pulp / paper, heavy industry, wastewater
  • Ability and track record to effectively deliver results in a multi-functional matrix organization
  • Strong communication skills and confidence with executive level presentations
  • Strong interpersonal, team building, and negotiation skills; ability to work with colleagues and customers at all levels of the organizations
  • Consistent track record of meeting performance objectives
  • Self-starter with high energy and ability to energize others
