Role Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer Special Processes is responsible for leading manufacturing projects. He/She must have developed significant experience in the field he/she is going to cover: manufacturing for heat treatments on gears and surface treatments on housing. For the project he/she is not only responsible for the industrialization, but for the optimization of the plant metrics, i.e. FTY, DPU reduction, product cost, lead time, WIP.

Essential Responsibilities:
The Manufacturing Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering in machining area and Process Specialist to define manufacturing router and parameters and all necessary tooling in order to assure strong manufacturing process.
  • Provide the technical leadership role in Special Process to assure an effective interface with all levels of GE management
  • Assure an effective interface with Design and Material Application Engineering teams
  • Analyze the root cause for defects and implement timely corrective action
  • Manage new machine installation and validation
  • Actively support the safety, quality, and productivity goals of the operation
  • Responsible for safety and fundamental knowledge of the EHS regulatory compliance requirements
  • Responsible for New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Responsible for new processes start up
  • Manage component process qualification plans and schedule and ensure processes are developed which deliver highest product quality and meet design criteria

    • Master Degree from an accredited university or High School Diploma with additional experience in manufacturing.
    • Significant experience in a manufacturing role
    • Experience in special processes
    • Reading, writing and speaking fluency in Italian and English languages
    • EU work permit

      • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
      • Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion
      • Six Sigma training is preferred
