Role Summary: Global business EHS role supporting all aspects of the Transportation business. Assist in setting business priorities and expectations, monitor performance and allocate resources, guide frontline EHS personnel, interface with senior operational leaders, support NPI, support acquisitions & divestitures, integrations and coordinate customer communication.
Essential Responsibilities: The position reports to the GE Transportation Global EHS. The scope includes EHS responsibilities for Global EHS functions and locations. Success will be assured through building positive, effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external customers.
Direct EHS Leadership of significant business P&L operating organization.
Manage EHS budgets; set priorities and review EHS programs
Development of Global EHS strategy and coordinate the implementation and communication
Work cross functionally to understand the needs of the business and implement programs that support business needs and are responsive to the external environment
Drive metrics development and facilitate progress toward goals; oversee heat map process and participate in audit planning and prioritization within region; establish priorities and coordinate efforts with the Regional EHS shared services teams to meet objectives
Actively participate in Regional reviews; team with the Regions and Enterprise Standards to share Best Practices and improve business EHS performance
Coach and develop site EHS Representatives to identify growth opportunities and meet their career potential; ensure retention of key talent
Leads and facilitates EHS Operating reviews
Provide leadership on regulatory agency interactions related to operations and legacy sites, as needed
Assure correct reporting of all incidents according to regulatory, GE Transportation and GE requirements and procedures
Review and evaluate root cause incident analysis as needed; ensure appropriate follow up and communication are complete
Support information and customer requests
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
Minimum of 5 additional years of experience in EHS - Regional Operations.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
Established project management skills.
