Role Summary:
The person in this role will be located at and support the Quality process at the Bucyrus Lamp Plant and report to the Engineering manager for the site.

Essential Responsibilities:

In addition you will :


  • Maintain the quality program to ensure both incoming components and finished goods are maintained within the quality specifications
  • Drive continuous quality improvements in both the incoming components and finished goods areas
  • Provide leadership team with pertinent reports on quality matters and customer complaints
  • Analyze data to determine quality trends and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain low warranty costs
  • Ensure compliance with various regulatory bodies and compliance standards
  • Interface with GE Global Quality Organization
  • Obtain / maintain ISO 9000 certification for the plant
  • Implement quality management system to track critical quality process
  • Work closely with technology organization on product and component validations
  • Provide work direction to quality technicians
  • Work closely with Shop Operations Manager to ensure quality standards and processes are being maintained
  • Report quality issues to all levels within GE, senior management through production worker

    Qualifications/Requirements:

  • BS in an Engineering, Science or Technical field from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience

    Desired Characteristics:

  • BS in Electrical / Mechanical / Chemical Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • MS in Electrical / Mechanical / Chemical Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Prior fluorescent lamp making experience
  • OMLP Graduate (GE Internal Only)
  • Background as Quality or Process engineer in a high-speed manufacturing setting
  • Prior experience in obtaining ISO 9000 certification
