Role Summary: GE Digital is looking for an experienced QA Engineer to work on a number of exciting projects that will have a very positive impact on GE’s business.
Break down problems and estimates time for quality related tasks
Demonstrate increasing expertise in application domain and functional areas
Apply various testing types and methodologies effectively during SDLC
Responsible for test creation, testing a large module or a large component and designing a feature, set of features, or whole feature area
Take ownership of tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary
Responsible for test execution, offers suggestions to refine and automate test procedures.
Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
Work independently and delivers testing and use case creation which meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project
Write effective tests according to best practices so that crucial functional requirements are verified and tests remain valid when code is refactored
Begin to collaborate with fellow team members and development team in bugs fixing and build plans
Collaborate with Quality Leaders in creating test plans
Use test automation techniques (data driven, pairwise, mocking, test hooks) that fit the problem space. Design and code for testability to produce quality code with the lowest cost
Implement and configures testing tools and at times help junior staff
Implement system-level integration testing
Be skilled in core data structures and algorithms
Define quality metrics, best practices and coding patterns, and provides deep expertise on the coding
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 3 years of experience in the industry is required. The position requires: 2 years experience with automated testing tools and/or frameworks such as UFT or Selenium; 2 years experience reading and interpreting code such as .Net, Java, C#, or Python; 3 years experience with test procedures, acceptance criteria and requirements; 3 years experience working in an Agile software environment; 3 years experience in a global and/or virtual team.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.
