Role Summary:
GE Digital is looking for an experienced QA Engineer to work on a number of exciting projects that will have a very positive impact on GE’s business.

Essential Responsibilities:
Responsibilities: 
  • Break down problems and estimates time for quality related tasks 
  • Demonstrate increasing expertise in application domain and functional areas 
  • Apply various testing types and methodologies effectively during SDLC 
  • Responsible for test creation, testing a large module or a large component and designing a feature, set of features, or whole feature area 
  • Take ownership of tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary 
  • Responsible for test execution, offers suggestions to refine and automate test procedures. 
  • Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques 
  • Work independently and delivers testing and use case creation which meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project 
  • Write effective tests according to best practices so that crucial functional requirements are verified and tests remain valid when code is refactored 
  • Begin to collaborate with fellow team members and development team in bugs fixing and build plans 
  • Collaborate with Quality Leaders in creating test plans 
  • Use test automation techniques (data driven, pairwise, mocking, test hooks) that fit the problem space. Design and code for testability to produce quality code with the lowest cost 
  • Implement and configures testing tools and at times help junior staff 
  • Implement system-level integration testing 
  • Be skilled in core data structures and algorithms 
  • Define quality metrics, best practices and coding patterns, and provides deep expertise on the coding


Qualifications/Requirements:
Basic Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the industry is required. The position requires: 2 years experience with automated testing tools and/or frameworks such as UFT or Selenium; 2 years experience reading and interpreting code such as .Net, Java, C#, or Python; 3 years experience with test procedures, acceptance criteria and requirements; 3 years experience working in an Agile software environment; 3 years experience in a global and/or virtual team. 
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills. 
  • Must be willing to travel (If there is travel) 
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Seattle, WA.
