Role Summary: Demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Essential Responsibilities: • Must maintain the highest level of integrity and ethics in all dealing with internal customer, team member and suppliers. • Assure environmental, health and safety compliance. • Establish and sustain a culture that promotes a safe and positive work environment. • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships at the different levels (craftsman, Supervisors, Chief Mechanical Officer). • Understand and execute in compliance with the Maintenance Service Agreement with the customer. • Provide leadership to a team of Material Technical Advisors (if any) and/or other service personnel as required. • Provide guidance and setting appropriate goals for direct reports (if any). • Maintain effective communication with the shop management and remote locations when needed in order to provide instructions about the best course of action to repair the locomotives. • Provide support in the troubleshooting process of the locomotives in the shop; including the revision of the locomotive and material history in order to make the right decisions. • Train and monitor work activities for safe and efficient locomotive repairs. • Execute the applicable Field Maintenance Instructions (FMI) for the units in the shop and as needed. • Assure root cause is being found before to remove any component during the troubleshooting process. • Responsible for all shift performance & execution, customer communications and issue resolution. • Ownership and leadership of other programs and metrics as required to meet the contractual obligations and to deliver business success. • Lead in the execution of all aspects of warehousing and material management including fulfillment, transactional quality, inventory accuracy, productivity and freight forwarding. • Manage all aspects of warehouse operations, including CoRES (dirty parts that need to be sent back to the repair point). • Ensure operational excellence through all phases of material movement and storage. • Meet the inventory targets including month end and quarter close process for inventory. • Work with customers externally and internally to identify new opportunities to improve our current processes as well as design and implement progressive management processes and systems based on LEAN and Six Sigma for control and replenishment of materials. • Own and manage GE assets and functional cost for the shop. • Complete the certification program and other training required on time. • Be available after hour as needed by the customer. • Participate actively in the turnovers with the customer and anticipate customer needs.
Qualifications/Requirements: • Willingness to work various shifts, various days • Independent worker, capable of managing a small team, meeting customer needs and continuously improving without direct supervision. • Leads by example, demonstrating integrity, professionalism and a strong work ethic. • Strong analytical skills and problem solving capabilities. • Ability to manage multiple priorities. • Experience in Microsoft Office applications. • Customer service or contract experience. • Technical experience working on locomotives, mechanical or electrical. • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude. • Experience in a field site, shop or manufacturing environment is preferred.
Desired Characteristics: • Post Secondary Education (Engineering or Technical). • Experience in industrial operations and/or military leadership experience. • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification or training is an asset.
