Role Summary:
The Director – Program Management is responsible for providing overall leadership and strategic direction for transforming GE’s legacy email environment into a full cloud based environment using Microsoft’s Exchange Online wherever possible, and cover all business specific and/or niche use-cases also thereby significantly reducing overall operating cost and taking user experience into the 21st century of consumer grade simplicity and usefulness.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsible for architectural design, provisioning and
build, and operational management of messaging services in GE through managing
all of GE’s email messaging resources, globally.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensures that development deliverables meet the “Definition
    of Done”
  • Manages risk and dependencies between organizations.
  • Defines and implement processes for coordination and
    communication between organizations and with GE stakeholders
  • Works closely with product release management to ensure that
    O&G Digital product deliverables are coordinated with corresponding
    deliverables from other O&G organizations
  • Establishes governance structure that identifies key
    performance indicators, sets milestones, and establishes a reporting cadence.
  • Tracks and monitors program status and metrics to ensure
    milestones are met, and internal and external delivery commitments are met.
  • Leads cross-discipline teams to establish an integrated plan
    to deliver team commitments
  • Ensures ongoing communication of progress against program
  • Proactively identifies and resolves issues and makes
    recommendations for improvements to existing processes
  • Ensures that the product development process abides by all
    defined cross-discipline standards and all compliance and regulatory


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors
    (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience along with established
    leadership across the discipline and function

Desired Characteristics:

Technical Expertise:

  • Familiarity with O365 and Exchange Online (EXOL)/email
    architecture, Proofpoint/Malware detection, design, build and support (5-10
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange
  • Familiarity with messaging local legislations and associated
    challenges, worldwide
  • Experience with working with and facilitating a remote,
    distributed team (3-5 years)
  • Experience with supplier relationship management (3-5 years)
  • Experience managing cost centers and leading financial
    analyses (3-5 years)
  • Strong track record of understanding and interest in current
    and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and/or
    industry activities.
  • Experience and understanding of the Cloud Development
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in excel, word,
    outlook, and access
  • Experience using Confluence, Rally, or AHA a plus.
  • Understand end user current and future messaging and email
    needs for efficient collaboration, including various use cases and personas
  • Actively drive the elimination of legacy on premise email
    solutions with ultimate focus on speed and cost out
  • Manage budgets and costs and associated cost centers
  • Provide team leadership for all email messaging resources in
    architecture, product management, provisioning and service delivery/operational
  • Manage email service vendor and supplier relationships
  • Engage with GE’s businesses to leverage email to deliver
    business outcomes
  • Lead email service engineers in delivery of first class
    email services
  • Work to transition legacy On Premise email users to Exchange
  • Provide support for acquisitions and divestitures to ensure
    seamless transitions into and out of GE’s email environment
  • Work on scripting,develop, and maintain complex scripts in
    support of operational and project/migration objectives

    resolution of urgent, service affecting issues
  • Proven ability to define business requirements and apply
    various technical solutions
  • Proven track record of setting targets, executing a plan,
    and delivering results

  • Ability to decompose problems and make decisions when
    problems or solutions are not 100% defined


  • Demonstrated experience leading and influencing across a
    complex, global matrix organization.
  • Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or
    barriers on behalf of the team
  • Uses critical thinking skills and disciplined approaches to
    help leaders and leadership teams resolve issues and define solutions
